Who We Are 1836 RADIO is a music streaming service that only plays original music. 1836 RADIO was conceived and developed by songwriters and artist. Our goal is to give original artist a music media that allows them to play their music without the clutter of cover material, and streaming services that cater to a set of pre-determined music preferences. The songwriters and artist, who own the song are the only individuals that can upload their music to 1836 Radio. Distribution companies are not allowed to upload at this time. We do not have the ability to determine all of their uploads are original material or cover.
HOW WE WORK We keep things simple and transparent. If you upload an original song, we give the world access to listen to it. Our royalty structure is simple. On a quarterly basis, a portion of our subscriber, artist and professional fees are placed into a royalty pool. At the end of every quarter, we divide the royalty pool by the numbers of streams in that quarter which equals a per stream royalty fee. The rules are simple. We count only a stream that has been played for more than a minute. The stream has to be played by a subscriber to 1836 RADIO. We only count one stream per subscriber in a day.
FAQ Do you guarantee how often will my songs will be played? -No. Our subscribers choose the songs they listen to. Can my fan base purchase my CD or merchandise from 1836 RADIO? -No. We do not inventory product. However, your fan base can access your website from a link on your 1836 RADIO artist page. Can anybody download my music from the 1836 RADIO website? -No. Only subscribers can download music. What do I get from a Basic Membership as an artist? -Basic membership is free. You are only allowed to upload your original music. Industry professionals will be able to review your material. Can I upgrade my membership? -Yes. You can become a subscriber which will give you access to streaming and downloading music. What kind of devices are compatible? -Any device that allows access and the ability to navigate the internet. What formats are acceptable to upload my music? -MP3 -MP4 Do I have to be a member to get my music downloaded or streamed? -Yes. A basic membership is free and allows for you to upload your music. How much will I be paid for each stream or download? -Click the link "HOW WE WORK" for a description of our royalty payments. Can a remake of an older song be uploaded? -Only if you are the original songwriter or artist. Is there a limitation on the time length of a song? -No. You should take into consideration, how long your listeners are willing listen to one song. Is it a lifetime membership or do I have to renew? -Basic artist membership is a lifetime -Subscribers are a monthly renewal Is it up to the artist to market and advertise? -Yes. 1836 RADIO is another tool for the artist to promoter themselves.
